Three quick checks before you call
These take two minutes and solve a surprising number of "AC not cooling" calls.
- Thermostat: Set to cool, at a reasonable target, and powered? A blank screen often means a tripped breaker or dead battery.
- Filter: A clogged filter chokes airflow and can freeze the coil. If it's dirty, swap it and see if cooling improves.
- Breaker: Find the outdoor unit's breaker. If it's tripped, reset once. If it trips again, stop and call.
